Identification and documentation
The station checks that the vehicle can be identified correctly and that its details match the documentation. It also considers modifications that require legal approval.
Bring the required documentation and check beforehand that the registration plates and identification elements are legible and correctly fitted.
Bodywork, visibility and interior
Checks cover the general condition of the bodywork and chassis, doors, locks, glass, mirrors, wipers and other elements affecting safety or visibility. Inside, seats, mountings, seat belts and other applicable equipment are inspected.
Impact damage, a dangerous sharp edge, windscreen damage in a relevant area or a non-functioning seat belt can be recorded as inspection defects.
Lighting, brakes, steering and suspension
The ITV checks the operation, condition and characteristics of lighting and signalling equipment. Braking components and performance are assessed under the applicable procedure. Steering, axles, wheels, tyres and suspension are also inspected.
Before attending, you can check lights, indicators, the horn, wipers and the visible condition of the tyres. Checking braking performance, play or the underside requires suitable equipment.
Engine, emissions and electronic systems
Engine and transmission elements that can affect safety or the environment are inspected, alongside emissions and noise according to the vehicle type. Electronic systems may be checked where the procedure requires it.
